Daily Affirmation: I Am Awesome

By: Pamela Leavey On: April 30, 2009 at 12:53 pm

“Today, I will practice the “I Am Awesome” principle. Each time I am asked how I am, I will reply, “I Am Awesome“. With each reply, I will feel the contagion of being Awesome grow with in, and I will share with others the principle of “I Am Awesome“. Awesome is a state of mind, it is a choice, like happiness. Why would I choose anything but that which makes me feel good. If I choose to be Awesome, then so it is.”  – Pamela J. Leavey

Daily Affirmation: Today, I Strive

By: Pamela Leavey On: April 29, 2009 at 12:50 pm

“Today, I strive to make a difference in one way, touch one life. Today, I strive to Be All That I Can Be. Do my best. Today, I go forth and do the work of the Spirit that guides me, and trust it shall not lead me astray. Today, I trust that somewhere I have made a difference. I am grateful for that opportunity.” – Pamela J. Leavey

Off to Boston to Hear the Dalai Lama Speak at MIT

By: Pamela Leavey On: April 28, 2009 at 8:44 pm

I’m heading to the Boston area tomorrow morning for a 3 days so that I can attend the inaugural event at The Dalai Lama Center for Ethics and Transformative Values at MIT on Thursday, April 30.

center-for-ethics

I’ve been granted a press pass from The Center, so I will have a substantial piece on the event when I return from Boston which will be published on The Democratic Daily. I’m very excited about the opportunity to hear His Holiness, The Dalai Lama speak on the topic of Ethics and Enlightened Leadership. I believe The Dalai Lama is one of the great spiritual leaders of our time and in my quest for inner peace his teaching have always resonated with me.

The Center “will promote the Dalai Lama’s vision of a better world by sponsoring interdisciplinary programs and deliberations on ethics.”

A collaborative think tank, the center is supported through the generosity of friends who recognize its potential to help shape tomorrow’s leaders. It will invite distinguished researchers, educators, entrepreneurs, policymakers, artists and others from diverse cultural, religious and educational backgrounds to contribute to its objectives through workshops and lecture series.

There’s more info on The Center here.
