“Presence of the Lord” was recorded by Blind Faith in 1969. Songfacts notes that Clapton wrote “Presence of the Lord” as a testimony of faith after leaving the band, Cream.

That’s why the key to lasting hapiness is to stop looking for it, and to know that you already have it.

I believe that happiness is a conscious choice, that does not come from outside sources. There are times when I must remind myself of this fact, but in that knowledge I am more at peace in my life.
