“We don’t learn how to cultivate love and compassion from those who are easy to love, we learn it from those for whom our love requires significant effort and constant practice – our so-called enemies.” ~~ the Dalai Lama, quoted in THE NEW MANDALA – Eastern Wisdom for Western Living

(K)NEW BREATH OF YOU
Imagine …
As (k)newly born beings,
we begin by first receiving,
accepting a naturally abundant source of support
~ the Breath of Life ~
only to immediately return this gift …
and then begin again.
Give and Receive
Accept and Release
In and Out
Beginning to End
Our breath is a constant companion,
guide, and connection to Life.
So it is, too, with Gratitude!
***
Go Gratitude!
***
Now …
breathe deeply, as if this is the One,
the beginning, the first breath connecting
You to Now.
Upon release, imagine a state of purity
returning to all creation – this breath
imbued with innocence, Divinity, and Gratitude,
gifted to all by a (k)newly born YOU
***
Gratitude Breath Meditation
Fill your heart with compassion and gratitude by practicing this
simple meditation. Begin by inhaling deeply through the nose
and exhaling completely through the mouth; then, inhale
through the mouth and exhale completely through the nose.
As you proceed, meditate on the mantra Saat Naam
(True Identity). ~ source: Yogi Tea

Mine is not to question the views of others, but to offer love and compassion to whom I do not agree with. — Pamela J. Leavey

“Love is acceptance. Love is compassion. Love is honesty. Love is the perfect Rose, that blooms in the sun’s warm glow. Love is the laughter and the smile of a child. Love is the knowledge that, all things are as God created them. When I accept that, I open my heart and soul, to ceaseless possibilities.” – Pamela J. Leavey

Last week, I drove down to Massachusetts so that I could attend the inaugural event at MIT’s Dalai Lama Center for Ethics and Transformative Values.
My interest in attending the event was two fold:
- First – To hear the Dalai Lama speak because I feel he is one of the great spiritual leaders of our times.
- Second – Because I feel strongly about the objective and mission of the Center, which is to “inspire a new generation of 21st century leaders with compassionate responsibility for the global and long-term social, economic, and environmental impacts of their decisions.”
The Center’s inaugural event at MIT was quite different from the large event at Gillette Stadium on Saturday that drew a diverse crowd of nearly 16,000.

Peppering his talk on promoting ethics and compassion, with his wonderful sense of humor, my first impression of His Holiness, was that he possesses a quality of pure happiness and joy, that I would liken to the happiness that is reflected in a small child. When we are young we are far more open and joyful than we are as adults, because we are not burdened and encumbered with the problems that age and responsibility set upon us. Continue Reading… »

“Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them humanity cannot survive.” – His Holiness, The Dalai Lama
The Dalai Lama is scheduled to be in the U.S. over the next 2 weeks for a series of events, including the Inauguration of The Dalai Lama Center at MIT in Boston, on April 30.
